VACCSF News:

The Veterans Administration Counseling Center of Santa Fe has announced they will provide counseling opportunities for any veteran in the Los Alamos area twice a month, beginning April 22.

The type of counseling available ranges from benefits counseling, family counseling for military related issues, bereavement counseling for families who experience an active duty death, Military Sexual Trauma (MST) and other medical issue counseling and more.

Jim Nesmith, past president of the Rotary Club of Los Alamos states, “We are delighted to have these counselors available to our Los Alamos veterans community. Working with the VA in the past has been challenging for many veterans, with many simply giving up. These counselors, who are veterans themselves, put a caring, human face on the VA and they know their business. They know the ins and outs of the system and will effectively advise our veterans on how to obtain the benefits they are eligible for. If you are a veteran with lingering issues related to your military service, I hope you will reach out and take advantage of this service.”
