Gas, water and sewer crews with the Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities will be excavating on the north side of Diamond Dr. between 35th and 37th streets to identify the location of, and if possible, repair a water leak.
This investigatory utility work will occur Saturday July 14 and possibly continue through Sunday July 15.
East and westbound traffic will be restricted beginning at 7:30 a.m. to one lane in each direction on the south side of Diamond, while two lanes on the north side of Diamond will be closed at the construction zone. Motorists can expect some delays.
If crews are not able to complete repairs this weekend, repair work will be scheduled in the upcoming weeks. Drivers are urged to observe the speed limit and traffic control signs. Questions or concerns may be directed to the DPU through the Customer Care Center, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday at 505.662.8333 or CustomerCare@lacnm.us.
The Department of Public Utilities (DPU) operates the county-owned electric, gas, water and wastewater systems under the jurisdiction of the Board of Public Utilities. Board meetings are 5:30 p.m., the third Wednesday of the month and the public is welcome.
