UNM-Los Alamos Student Services Moves To More Central Location On Campus

Changes are afoot at UNM-Los Alamos, and they’re all for the convenience of the students. As of Monday, July 6, UNM-LA Student Services and Business Services will trade office locations: Student Services was previously located in the lower level of Building 2 and will now be in Building 1. Business Services will be in the lower level of Building 2.

“The move will place enrollment and service departments right in the center of campus and in closer proximity to one another,” said UNM-LA Student Enrollment Director Kathryn Vigil. “As much as possible, we want to be accessible and engaged with our students. The new location will help us form an integrated support network and customer service area where we can provide information, advising, encouragement, and assistance.”

Clear signage will direct students and visitors to the new department locations during and after the move.

Student Services include Accessibility Services, Admissions/Registration, Academic Advisement, Bachelor & Graduate Programs, Career Advisement, Financial Aid, and Veteran’s Services.

Business Services include Cashier, Facilities & Event Management, Marketing & Communication, and Personnel/Human Resources.

Another change on the campus will be the Los Alamos Small Business Development Center (SBDC) moving to the lower level of Building 7. Signs directing clients to that office will be clearly visible. The SBDC can be reached at 505.662.0337.
