UNM-LA News:
UNM-Los Alamos (UNM-LA) invites the community to a reception for the University of New Mexico’s 23rd President Garnett S. Stokes, 6-7 p.m. Wednesday, May 16.
Stokes began her role March 1 as the university president, with her official installation taking place May 12 during the graduation ceremony.
According to Stokes, listening to others is central to her leadership style. She is undertaking a Statewide Listening Tour to meet people throughout New Mexico to better understand the state she now calls home. Los Alamos will be her first stop in the tour.
After a UNM-LA campus visit in the morning, she will spend the afternoon at Los Alamos National Laboratory. The community at large is invited to meet Stokes, 6-7 p.m. at a reception in the UNM-LA Student Center in Building 2.
