UNM-LA Officials Clarify Mil Levy Misconceptions

UNM-LA News:

UNM-LA Executive Director Cedric Page and Dean of Instruction Cindy Rooney today addressed misconceptions surrounding the use of funds from the mil levy.

Cindy Norwood Rooney: “Just for clarification, the UNM-LA request does not involve construction projects, nor will the county control the use of the funds. The funds will be used to continue programs in fire science, EMS, robotics, and other programs that were initially funded with grant money. The additional funds will also allow UNM-LA to improve dual credit opportunities for high school students.”

Cedric Page: “The clarification by Dr. Rooney is important and needs to be re-stated. The UNM-LA mil levy will NOT be used for capital/construction projects at the college but will be used to support academic and career programs that will serve all the residents of Los Alamos County.
