The Community Education Department of the University of New Mexico-Los Alamos will offer the class, Wine Tasting in Northern New Mexico, 2-4 p.m. Saturday, June 8.
The wine tasting will take place at the award winning Black Mesa Winery where students will learn about local wines in an outdoor setting. The class explores Italian grape varieties growing in New Mexico.

Liz Berdugo, the instructor, is an Italian licensed sommelier. In addition to teaching the pleasures of wine, Berdugo offers classes in cheese, chocolate, and food-wine pairings. She is also fluent in Italian.
The class is one of four offered in the Summer 2013 Educational Outings in Northern New Mexico program. The other classes offered are Pueblos of the Rio Grande, Photographing the Caldera and Backyard Geology. Each class combines a day outing with instruction from experienced teachers.
