MPL News:

When new raku kilns arrived in the ceramics studio at UNM-LA last summer, SuFong Milloni and Ricky Trujillo were inspired to begin a collaboration, exploring form and design using the raku method of firing. The pieces they started working on last summer are now on display at the UNM-LA Library.

Milloni designed and threw the pots; she is a master of the pottery wheel. Trujillo, who also paints and sculpts, designed and applied the glazes. They worked together to fire the pots, experimenting with times, temperatures, and procedures. The result of their collaboration is a visual delight.

“Two Minds, Four Hands” will be on display until approximately March 31. The exhibit can be seen in the UNM-LA campus library during normal library hours:
  • 8 a.m. – 6 p.m., Monday – Thursday
  • 8 a.m. – 1 p.m., Friday

Milloni and Trujillo have been studying ceramics for several years with instructor Barbara Yarnell at UNM-Los Alamos.
