UNM-LA Announces Scholarship Recipients For 2020

UNM-LA News:

The University of New Mexico – Los Alamos (UNM-LA) announces the Scholarship Award recipients for Fall 2020.

The scholarship recipients represent 12 high schools throughout New Mexico.

Recipients are from Los Alamos High School and Pojoaque High School as well as Escalante High School in Northern New Mexico and Carlsbad High School in Southern New Mexico.

In addition to these recent graduate high school students, UNM-LA has presented awards to students of all ages from Los Alamos, Peñasco, Tierra Amarilla, Ojo Caliente, Gallina and the Espan͂ola Valley.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a video presentation was prepared to honor the scholarship recipients.

“Congratulations to you on behalf of faculty and staff for the scholarships you have earned this year,” UNM-LA Chancellor Dr. Cynthia Rooney said in the video. “Your hard work and dedication to your academic endeavors has paid off.” Rooney continued, “UNM-LA is proud to have such an outstanding group of students start and continue their education in Los Alamos and we are very grateful to the generous donors for their contributions to the various scholarship awards.”
