United Church of Los Alamos News:
This summer, The United Church of Los Alamos continues the 75-year tradition of offering a place where young Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) interns, graduate students and the like meet, eat and play volleyball at “Monday Night at the Pit”.
Beginning at 5:30 p.m. Monday, June 5, students are invited to meet and greet, enjoy a tail-gate picnic and play volleyball at The United Church’s sand volleyball court.
Each Monday in summer, the congregation and friends of this Historic Landmark church enjoy meeting the students and providing this popular activity free of charge.
The sand court and picnic area are at the intersection of Rose, Central Avenue and Canyon Road, across from the Aquatic and Nature centers.
All are welcome. No credentials or employment status is required, nor is playing volleyball.
The United Church’s address is 2525 Canyon Road. More about the church can be found at www.unitedchurchLA.org.
