Unicorn’s Head Stolen From Downtown Los Alamos

A thief stole the head of this unicorn scarecrow on Central Avenue in downtown Los Alamos over the weekend. A kindergarten class at Mountain Elementary School created the unicorn for this year’s MainStreet contest. The class had chosen the name Unicorns for themselves at the beginning of the school year. Sadly, when a father of one of the students drove by Saturday afternoon, he saw that the unicorn’s head was missing. Reports indicate that there are some pretty upset kindergarteners. Parents are hoping that by publishing the incident in the Los Alamos Daily Post, the culprit might read about it, have a change of heart and return the head to the spot where it was taken. In the mean time, the body of the unicorn will remain in a safe location. Courtesy photo
