Udall On Democratic Proposal To End Shutdown

U.S. Sen. Tom Udall

U.S. SENATE News:

WASHINGTON, D.C. U.S. Sen. Tom Udall (D-N.M.), ranking member of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on the Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies, released the following statement Monday after Democratic leaders announced a plan to end President Trump’s government shutdown and reopen the federal government:

“Democrats are offering a responsible path forward to end the Trump shutdown, reopen the government, and provide certainty for New Mexico workers, families, and our economy. New Mexicans never asked for a Trump shutdown, from a president who is holding government hostage to try and force taxpayers to pay for his ineffective, wasteful, and offensive border wall. It’s time for Republican leaders to end this madness and support a common-sense, bipartisan way forward for the good of the country.”
