From the Office of U.S. Sen. Ben Ray Luján:
Washington, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Ben Ray Luján (D-N.M.) issued the following statement today on the passing Saturday of Archbishop Emeritus Michael J. Sheehan:
“Archbishop Emeritus Sheehan spent much of his life devoted to the Catholic faith and his work went beyond the confines of the church. He spent decades working to better the lives of New Mexicans. His leadership, and his voice, will be sorely missed across New Mexico.
“My prayers are with Archbishop Emeritus Sheehan’s loved ones and all who knew him. His legacy of kindness and selflessness will live on through those he guided.”
