Stansbury Highlights Federal Investments In New Mexico’s Solar Future During Keynote Address At Industry Conference

SANTA ANA PUEBLO, NM — U.S. Rep. Melanie Stansbury (N.M.-01) recently addressed the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law’s critical investments in solar energy development and her legislation to streamline innovative clean energy technology to the market during her keynote address to the Solar Energy Industries Association conference.

“In November, we passed the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, which will make billions of dollars of investments in our grid and billions of dollars in investments in the infrastructure for the resilience of our communities,” Rep. Stansbury said. “We will not stop fighting until climate action happens and we help every community across the United States make this renewable energy transition so our country can be a global leader once again in our clean energy future.”

Rep. Stansbury highlighted how her bipartisan legislation, the Partnerships for Energy Security and Innovation Act, will streamline clean energy innovations from National Laboratories to the market, a bill she recently secured as part of the House-passed America COMPETES Act. In addition to Rep. Stansbury’s legislation, the America COMPETES Act establishes a domestic solar manufacturing supply chain which is projected to create up to 1.5 million new jobs across the country by 2035.

Rep. Stansbury also addressed climate provisions included in the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law that invest tens of millions of dollars in solar energy jobs, research, development, and innovative manufacturing. The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law also invests in the grid modernization and transmission expansion necessary to transition to clean energy.

Rep. Stansbury closed the address by emphasizing her commitment to pass bold climate legislation that meets the moment head on prioritizing renewable energy solutions and builds climate resiliency across New Mexico communities.
