U.S. 84/285 Traffic Switch North of Pojoaque

NMDOT News:

SANTA FE – NMDOT continues work on U.S. 84/285 just north of Pojoaque between mile markers 182.4 and 183.2. The scope of the project includes new bridge construction with new on and off ramps, new roadway lighting, and pavement reconstruction for 0.72 miles within Santa Fe County.

Paving operations have been completed and US 84/285 traffic will now travel on the reconstructed US 84/285 mainlines under the new overpass bridge. The interchange has been substantially completed; however, final tie-ins to the ramps and cross road will be completed in the spring of 2014 when weather conditions permit. The bridge will be closed to traffic.

Access to the US 84/285 east and west frontage road will be provided as described below:

  • The residents on the west frontage road will continue to use the newly constructed west frontage road and southbound on-ramp to access southbound US 84/285.
  • Residents living in the Arroyo Seco area, along the east frontage road will continue to use CR 88 to get onto southbound US 84/285, and residents living along the west frontage road will continue to use Boneyard Road to access their homes.
  • Motorists are advised that double fine zones are in effect.

The project was placed on winter suspension on December 6, 2013. The contractor, AUI Inc., will resume construction operations on March 24, 2014 with anticipated completion in June of 2014.
