CO+OP News:

Just two Co+op cooking classes remain this year:

  • Tuesday, Nov. 18 – Dehydrator Snacks 1.0 with Lisa Johnson
  • Tuesday, Dec. 9 – Vegetarian North Indian Cuisine with Harshini Mukundan.

The classes take place at 6 p.m. in the Co+op Café and registration is available at the Co+op (95 Entrada Dr.). The Co+op’s Shop with the Chef cooking classes give local chefs the opportunity to share their love of cuisine, starting with shopping for the ingredients and taking participants through the cooking process to enjoying the final product.

Delicious dehydrator snacks are the focus Nov. 18 with Lisa Johnson. The class will cover how to make the most of a dehydrator and save money while making great, healthy snacks. Johnson will discuss how to customize each recipe to meet the participant’s desired flavor profile.

On Dec. 9, Mukundan will share flavorful recipes from North India, inspired by Mughalai cooking style, developed by the imperial kitchens of the Muslim Mughal Empire in South Asia. Although vegetarian versions will be taught, Mukundan will discuss how to modify the dishes to include chicken, if there is interest. Mukundan also will describe low fat and vegan alternatives for both the rice and curry dish.

The Los Alamos Co+op Market can be found at two locations: 95 Entrada Dr. and inside Fusion Multisport on Central across from CB FOX. Check the website www.losalamos.coop or call the Co+op 505.695.1579 for more information.
