As we head into the weekend, your union is still hard at work fighting for our profession and our students through advocating for a few, targeted additions to the budget for Fiscal Year ’23.

Part of the fight is for additional funding for ancillary educators and educational assistant minimum salaries. Our Legislative allies are also fighting for these issues, so we encourage you to act TODAY!

As members of the Senate Finance Committee put the final touches on the FY ’23 budget, we want to keep up the pressure to support three additional items which would help not only our classified educators, but also the hard-working ancillary staff in our schools.

Specifically, we are still fighting for a $20K minimum salary for all educational assistants, increased premium coverage for NMPSIA insurance participants, and more funding for flexible compensation, which is critical to provide equitable raises for ancillary staff in our schools.
