Two Future Engineers Awarded Jim Sims Memorial Engineering Scholarship

Caleb Hatler and Sophia Li were recently awarded the Jim Sims Memorial Engineering Scholarship, which was created to honor long time Los Alamos resident and LANL engineer Jim Sims.
 
Jim Sims worked for 34 years at Los Alamos National Laboratory as a design engineer and leader of project engineering teams. Sims was a gifted Mechanical Engineer with a distinguished career. He was essential to the success of highly visible programs that have enhanced the scientific and engineering reputation of the Laboratory. Sims was also committed to mentoring young engineers, designers, and students, generously sharing his knowledge and experience.
 
Caleb Hatler is the son of Karri Hatler. He will attend LeTourneau University in the fall where he will study Mechanical Engineering.
 
Sophia Li is the daughter of Ning Li and Yifeng Zhang. She plans to study Mechanical Engineering at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
 
The Jim Sims Memorial Engineering Scholarship is administered by the Los Alamos Public Schools Foundation, an independent organization that that supports, challenges, and invests in a successful future for all Los Alamos public school students.
