The Los Alamos Creative District is kicking off the Tuesdays at the Pond Entertainment Series with a Night of Jazz!
The Los Alamos Middle School Jazz 1 Band will take the stage at 7 p.m. followed at 8 p.m. by the Los Alamos Jazz Project Big Band.
The Jazz 1 Band is made up of 27 middle school students, who play under the direction of Ryan Finn, and have received superior ratings at the 2018 Albuquerque and Santa Cruz Jazz Festivals.
The 17-member Jazz Project Band takes the stage at 8 p.m. and is directed by Ryan Finn and Michael Burt. The Jazz Project is in its third year of fostering Jazz education and performance that focuses on improvisation and new big band. Finn is in his 6th year as the LAMS Jazz Band director and directs three concert bands and three jazz bands with approximately 160 students enrolled in the program.
