This week “Canvas & Cocktails: A Tribute to the Masters” will pay homage to Jackson Pollack with drip painting.
Pairing a good drink with good art has always made for a grand time, and art therapist Trish Ebbert is there to help you get creative, a little messy, and have some fun!
Ebbert has experimented with pouring and dripping paint on a canvas and adding things like beads and other doo-dads to create interesting textures under the paint. Her piece “Full Fathom Five After Pollack” was just accepted for an upcoming exhibit at Fuller Lodge Art Center.
Participants will meet at Village Arts, where they will find canvases, paint and an assortment of libations waiting. Ebbert plans to bring beverages, and is open to suggestions (firstname.lastname@example.org).
The price for the event is $30, plus $15 to instructor, and will provide you with a canvas, paints, a variety of objects to add to the canvas, plenty of drinks and great company!
To join in the fun, call Fuller Lodge Art Center at 505.662.1635 to register by 4 p.m. today, Feb. 28.
