TOTH News:
Looking for a vintage item from childhood, or to catch up with the neighbors? Then come join Trinity on the Hill Episcopal Church (TOTH) for its first ever, Summer Yard Sale.
The sale is 8 a.m. to noon, July 24 and July 25 at the church, 3900 Trinity Drive. All proceeds from this event benefit the House of Hope ministry. This is a partnership with Missions Ministries to build a house for a family in Juarez, Mexico.
In Juarez, more than half of the population lives in severe poverty, and the average salary is less than $25 a day. Since 1992, Missions Ministries has been serving the people of Juarez by building houses for low-income families. For 22 years, members of Trinity on the Hill and other nearby churches head South to Juarez with Mission Ministries to help build a house for a local family.
The House of Hope team will be working alongside the family, as well as local workers and artisans, to build and furnish a home that will provide permanent shelter and security for the recipient family for years to come. While in Juarez, the build-team also engages in a variety of community outreach activities, for example, providing an evening meal and a variety of crafts to about a hundred children and their parents or grandparents.
Donations can be dropped off between 7:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Thursday, July 23, in Trinity on the Hill’s Kelly Hall. Please, no large volumes of clothing, books, or furniture. Cash, Venmo and credit cards will be accepted at the sale. Direct questions to 505.525.1968.
