Efforts are being made to minimize the impacts of the construction project. The Dept. of Public Utilities is working with businesses to identify off-peak times to conduct utility work, and construction phasing is planned to reduce impacts to public events and local businesses.

Residents can stay informed by signing up to receive project updates. The County’s Construction Cone Zone webpage will also provide regular updates to construction activities.

Construction operations

Hasse Contracting Company will begin working on eastbound Trinity Drive from Oppenheimer Drive to just west of 20th Street for the first phase of the project. Eastbound traffic on Trinity will be reduced to one lane in the work zone.

Regular construction hours are Monday-Friday 7 a.m.-5 p.m. Crews will ensure access is maintained for pedestrians during the Friday night Summer Concert Series taking place on the north side of Trinity Drive at Ashley Pond Park. Access will be maintained to all businesses on the south side of Trinity Drive in the construction area.

Traffic should follow all detour signs. Motorists and pedestrians are advised to use caution around construction activities and avoid entering the work zone. If motorists seek an alternate route, please obey the posted speed limit and be aware of pedestrians, bicyclists, and wildlife, especially in our residential areas.

All questions, concerns, or special access needs should be sent to Patti Watson, 505.269.9691 (cell); 505.245.3134 (direct office), and 1-800-687-3417 (toll-free), or email pattiw@cwastrategic.com.
