Barranca PTO News:
Barranca PTO is sponsoring a brand new Halloweekend event, the Trick-or-Trot 5K and Fun Run!
This year, the event will take place virtually, with participants running Oct. 24-31.
The entire community is invited to join! The registration fee will come with a race t-shirt (unless you opt out) and extra motivation to get out and move.
Participants can choose to run (or walk or hike or swim) on any course that they choose, wherever they may be.
Barranca PTO is raising money for desperately needed playground equipment. Especially given the current crises, the schools need multiple areas for kids to play.
“We are so excited to start this new tradition in Los Alamos. We hope that this race will become a staple of our town’s Halloween celebrations. It makes it even better knowing that it will benefit our kids,” PTO President Bethany Scott said. “Although several of our favorite traditions are cancelled this year, a virtual 5K is something the entire community can be part of and celebrate while still being safe.”
Registration is open now at www.barrancapto.org/trickortrot. Register by Oct. 7 to make sure you get your shirt.
The cost is $15 (no-t-shirt) or $25 (t-shirt). Family of 4 registration is $75 with $10 for each additional family member. When you run, make sure to take pictures and post on social media using #barranca5k so that we can see your accomplishment!
Businesses wishing to sponsor this event and have their logo on the t-shirt should contact barrancamesapto@gmail.com as soon as possible.
