Traffic Changes On Sherwood In White Rock Scheduled For Sept. 15

COUNTY News:

Los Alamos County Public Works Department and contractor RMCI Inc. have announced a lane closure and detour on Sherwood Boulevard will go into effect as early as Tuesday after the morning rush hour, shortly after 8 a.m.

The northbound lane will be closed at Aztec Avenue while the southbound lane will remain open. To accommodate construction operations and equipment, the southbound lane will shift to the far eastside of Sherwood Boulevard, then again to the center.

Access to local businesses will remain, and detour signs will be in place to help guide northbound motorists back to N.M. 4 via Rover Boulevard.

Motorists may experienc morning delays and should allow extra time while driving through the construction zone. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limit, and be on the alert for workers and equipment.

The detour will remain in place until paving is completed.

Direct questions or concerns about the work to the Public Works Department at 505.662.8150 or send an email to lacpw@lacnm.us.

The County thanks the public for its continued patience and cooperation.
