Traffic Alert: Water Line Work 15th Street At Myrtle Monday

Traffic Alert:

The Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities water crew will be replacing a water line on the west side of 15th Street at Myrtle Monday. 

Southbound traffic on 15th Street will be merged into the center turn lane beginning at 8 a.m. until 7 p.m. as the crew completes repairs. 

Water services will not be interrupted during this project.

DPU officials advise motorists to observe the speed limit and traffic control devices in the area.

The Department of Public Utilities (DPU) operates the county-owned electric, gas, water and wastewater systems under the jurisdiction of the Board of Public Utilities. Board meetings are 5:30 p.m. on the third Wednesday of the month. Currently public in-person attendance is not permitted due to the public health emergency. Minimal county staff will be in attendance to present items and BPU members will be participating by phone. Public comment is encouraged via email at bpu@lacnm.us. Citizens are asked to type PUBLIC COMMENT in the subject line of the e-mail. Within the body of the e-mail, individuals should include a name, address, whether the comment pertains to a specific item on the agenda, and the comment. Public comments about items will be accepted prior to the meeting, to be read into the meeting at the appropriate time. In addition, the e-mail address will be monitored during the meeting for comments to be received during the live proceedings and read into the record when the Chair calls for public comment.
