At Trinity on the Hill Episcopal Church, much change can be seen—especially at our Generations Service this Sunday, Aug. 11 at 6:07 p.m. in Kelly Hall, with a free dinner at 5:15 p.m. Have you seen the signs? Generations Service’s new signs, that is, on the north and south sides of the church. We welcome all to attend and bring a friend. Please join us in welcoming our newest friend and Priest-in-Charge, Fr. Gary Baldwin.
Father Gary is coming! He’s coming! He’s here! And on his first official day as our new priest, Father Gary will be attending Generations! And who will be giving the homily this Aug. 11 service? Come to our service to find out. Here’s a hint—either Fr. Gary or our own returning Seminarian Laurie Triplett. One of them will be teaching on “Deep Friendship with God, Ourselves, and Others.”
The Generations contemporary service keeps things upbeat, from the music (having awesome guest musicians this week, such as Dr. Lisa Shin on piano, Brian Key on the drums, and Rob Dunham on woodwinds) to so many different people of the cloth sharing with you God’s Word. As you can see, we will have not only Mother Alicia and Fr. Gary, but our dear friend Laurie Triplett, as well. Welcome back, Laurie!

Laurie Triplett has been our Seminarian for five years. She finished the first half of her seminarian education at Trinity School for Ministry and continues in the Episcopal Divinity School’s Hybrid Program. She continued to study in Florida and has just returned to us. She believes in the bi-vocational priesthood, which combines science and theology.
Father Gary Baldwin does, too, in a way. Although Laurie’s science is mechanical engineering, Fr. Gary was a licensed psychotherapist for several years. He also brings to TOTH 25 years’ experience as a Parish Priest. In some ways, as Fr. Gary said in TOTH’s newsletter, he is “a recovering psychotherapist!” He completed and received his doctorate in Christian Spirituality by combining his work as both a therapist and a priest. In Los Alamos, it sure is useful to be both a person of science and spirituality with a touch of humor.
Father Gary Baldwin, our new friend, is coming. As Fr. Gary said in TOTH’s newsletter, “I will come to live among you, with my own unique gifts, to learn from you, and continue to build on the wonderful ministry you already have.” So dear friends, and friends of friends, please come among us to be part of our ministry and Rock the House of God!
