Staff Report

Golf Pro Donnie Torres and local junior golfer Sean Rau, 12, played 100 holes at Los Alamos Golf Course Wednesday during the annual “Longest Day of Golf” charity event.

The PGA section that Torres is involved with uses the “longest day” event as a fundraiser for Junior Golf.

“We also can raise money for another charity of our choice,” Torres said. “This year one of our local juniors, Sean Rau age 12, asked if he could join me. He wanted to raise money for the Los Alamos Animal Shelter. Together we raised nearly $4,000 for Junior Golf in New Mexico and the Animal Shelter.”

Torres thanked all those who donated to the event.

“We had a blast! Special thanks to Jon and Karen Rau who volunteered their time today to help us get around the course, fix divots and ball marks,” Torres said.
