Sports News:

Topper Football played host to the Taos Tigers Friday evening at Sullivan Field for the first home game of the session.

The evening was filled with excitement and fanfare with the NJROTC presenting the Colors, the Topper Marching Band, and the Topper Cheerleaders all added to the excitement.

On the playing field, the Taos Tigers elected to receive the opening kickoff and The Tiger Quarter back Damon Ely took the kickoff and ran it in for the first touchdown. That didn’t stop the Toppers from answering with a touchdown of their own and led the contest winning 35-24.

The game was halted for a very long lightening delay at midway, but the contest was completed with the Toppers emerging the winner.
