The Topper Library is asking the community to show love to the many lonely cats and dogs by dropping off donations for local animal shelters March 15-19.
Items such as dog and cat food, treats, toys, leashes, towels and blankets may be dropped off 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Los Alamos High School Topper Library outdoor entrance.
A list of needed items may be found here.
Topper library assistant Cami Heath is organizing this event. She decided to pursue this project after her cat of 10 years passed away.
“I care a lot about keeping animals happy and safe,” she said. “It gets lonesome in times like these, but at least we have our family and pets. I can only imagine the loneliness the shelter animals feel, and so I want to help them.”
The donation drive will benefit these local shelters:
- Los Alamos Animal Shelter 505,662,8179;
- Felines & Friends New Mexico 505.316.2281; and
- Santa Fe Animal Shelter 505.983.4309.
The Topper Library extends thanks to everyone who makes a donation. To schedule a drop off at another time, contact Shannon Seitz at email@example.com.
