SPORTS News:
The Los Alamos High School Topper Golf Teams qualified three players for the 2022 State Competition, which was played earlier this month at the Santa Ana Golf Course in Albuquerque.
The morning of the tournament all three qualifiers including senior Conner Cook. junior Gabrielle Mowrer and freshman Natalie Crawford discovered that their golf clubs had been stolen from their car in the parking lot of the hotel where they were staying. The staff at the Twin Warriors and Santa Ana Golf Club provided temporary replacement sets for the team to use in the tournament.
The golfers tried to make the best of the situation.
“I’m just going to approach this day with open arms. I’m going to see what has to come,” Topper golfer Mowrer said.
Pro-golfer Notah Begay and his NB3 Foundation has said that he will replace the stolen clubs saying it’s a shame what happened to the young golfers, and he wants to make it right.
