Los Alamos High School girls and boys golf teams were awarded five individual state qualifying legs and two team state qualifying legs at the Grants/Piedra Vista Fall Golf Invitational Oct. 7-8 at Coyote del Malpais Golf Course in Grants.

All in all, it was a very successful trip for both teams. A lot was accomplished and a lot was learned. Both teams started the season in a bit of a funk. They’ve been working hard and things have taken a very positive turn.

We now know what it feels like to get near the top of the scoreboard, earn qualifying legs and then come back the next day and do it again! It’s hard to do when you’ve never done it, or haven’t done it in a long time. BUT … once you achieve that milestone, you know what it’s like, you raise the bar on yourself, you begin to expect it and it becomes easier.
