The Los Alamos High School Hilltopper Boys Varsity Soccer Team won the annual Louie Cernicek Tournament played Friday and Saturday in Los Alamos.

The Toppers played host to eight teams from around the state. The Toppers first game was played against the Clovis Wildcats Friday morning at Sullivan Field. The Toppers dominated the Wildcats and won 3-1 to progress to their next game against the Artesia Bulldogs.

The Bulldogs gave the Toppers their toughest game, which ended in a 1-1 tie forcing a shootout to decide the winner. The Toppers won the penalty kick shootout and the match 2-1. 

The Toppers progressed to the championship game Saturday afternoon against the Los Lunas Tigers.  The Toppers had little trouble with the Tigers, winning the game 2-1 and the championship.
