When you’ve been in business in Los Alamos for more than 22 years like Peter Nguyen and Nina Pham of Top Nails and Spa, what gives you the greatest pleasure is having three generations of families visit your salon.

Pham says many of their customers have been coming to Top Nails since they originally opened and that is common for grandmothers, mothers, and daughters to come in together.

“Over the years, our salon has become a relaxed and happy place where customers feel at home,” Pham said. “We often hear people say, ‘Long time, no see’, and then they chat and laugh together while we are working on their hands or feet.”

While the salon is primarily known for its professional nail care, many customers go to Pham for her signature facial. Done in a private, quiet room, the facial includes cleaning and steaming of the face, and analysis of the skin.

Then, Pham applies a traditional refreshing cucumber mask and uses a rotating brush which softens and rejuvenates the skin before using essential oils and deep-cleaning pores.

One of the most enjoyable parts of the facial is the massage of the face, neck, shoulders, hands and arms with hot stones. Facials usually cost from $35 to $50.

The spa also provides waxing services for eyebrows, upper lips, chin, face, arms, legs and bikini line.

Prices range from $10 to $50. Pham says the salon uses very strong sanitizers and that cleanliness if very important. Individual boxes containing all the nail care items used on a customer are available for customers.

Each box has the customer’s name on it and several of the boxes stacked on the shelf have been used by the individual patrons for many years. Top Nails has provided service to the elderly and diabetics for many years.
Top Nails has a huge stock of nail polish to which they continually add new colors and change with the seasons.

They also stock all kinds of supplies such as pumice stones, cuticle cutters, nail clippers, nail files and buffers, and lotions for hands and feet.

Nguyen says he enjoys applying acrylic nails as well as gel color.

Nail services include manicures, pedicures, acrylic nails, silk wrap, gel color, UV gel, French nails, repair, polish change and more.
