Top 2017 County Fair Exhibit Winners

Exhibits ranging from finely sewn quilts to fruits and vegetables were exhibited during the County Fair.
 
This year, four individuals were awarded the “Best of the Best” award – a beautiful hand crafted glass dish created by local glass artist David F. Schuster. Claire Swinhoe, received the “Fiber Arts – Best of the Best Award” for her Alaska Quilt. Claire Swinhoe, received the “Culinary Arts – Best of the Best Award” for her Traditional English Cake. Samantha Grow received the “Creative Arts Best of the Best Award” for her “Peacock” photograph. Laurie Walker received the “Horticulture Best of the Best Award” for her Vegetable Basket.
 
The following individuals were recognized for their Grand and Reserve Grand Champion awards:
  • Knitting – Adult Grand Champion – Mary Fellman (Yellow Shawl).
  • Crochet – Adult Reserve Grand Champion – Sue Scoggins (Purple Minion).
  • Needlework – Adult Grand Champion – Nancy Cape (Blue Lagoon); Reserve Grand Champion – Marilyn Foster (Flowers).
  • Quilts – Adult Grand Champion – Claire Swinhoe (Alaska); Adult Reserve Grand Champion – Susan Friar (Pink Flamingo).
  • Baked Goods – Youth Grand Champion – Gwen Mathews (Peanut Butter Oat Cookies); Youth Reserve Grand Champion – Elise Delgado (Sweet Cornbread); Adult Grand Champion – Claire Swinhoe (Traditional w/ Edible Flower Adornment); Adult Reserve Grand Champion – Kirk Thompson (Basic White Sourdough Boule).
  • Fine Arts – Youth Grand Champion – Sarah Worley (“Crazy Hair”); Youth Reserve Grand Champion – Bailey McVay (“Water Color Painting”); Adult Grand Champion – Kreig Peterson (“Sky Dancer”); Adult Reserve Grand Champion – Sarah Matthews (“Icon of Christ”).
  • Hobbies & Crafts – Youth Grand Champion – Benjamin Peterson (Empire Ship and Army); Youth Reserve Grand Champion – Gwen Matthews (Elves & Dragon Scene); Adult Grand Champion – Cy Jakubowski (Stained Glass Panel); Adult Reserve Grand Champion – Lucas Rock (Purple Heartwood Carving Knife).
