VFAR News:
It’s National Rescue Dog Day. Voters For Animal Rights believes strongly in “Adopt, Don’t Shop!”
It’s imperative that all of the dogs waiting in shelters and rescues for fur-ever homes are the first stop for human families looking to add a companion to their household.
I was lucky to be adopted by VFAR Board Member, Julie, but not every dog has the same fate. VFAR is fighting to make sure no dog ever has to suffer in a puppy mill. They are closer than ever before to passing the bill. It has passed the NY Senate, and now that it’s close to passing the NY assembly, the cruel puppy mill industry is throwing out every dirty tactic to stop the bill.
Incremental wins aren’t enough. There’s so much more VFAR can do when supporters like you speak up. The puppy mill industry has endless financial resources to pay for lobbyists, advertising, and misinformation. VFAR is an all-volunteer organization that is putting everything they can behind this effort… but they have financial limitations right now. That’s where you come in, friend.
S.1130/A.4283 must pass to encourage adoptions by banning the sale of dogs (plus cats and rabbits) in pet stores. Victory is ahead, but help is needed to get there.
