Today is Creative District’s Fourth Friday

CREATIVE DISTRICT News:

Designed to get people downtown before the Summer Concert Series begins at 7 p.m., Fourth Fridays is a monthly event that offers special programming at Mesa Public Library, Bradbury Science Museum, Los Alamos Historical Society and Fuller Lodge Art Center and the Los Alamos Nature Center. 

Fourth Fridays happens on the fourth Friday of each month and also promotes special offerings from participating local businesses. This month Fourth Friday special events and promotions include: 

The Spy Academy at the Los Alamos Historical Museum and the Fuller Lodge Art Center! There will be cryptography activities for kids and adults, including a paper Enigma machine and a code-breaking challenge. Then head through the spy’s obstacle course to the Art Center to learn about fingerprinting and create some fingerprint art. The Spy Academy will only be open on Friday from 4–6 p.m.

Also at the Los Alamos Historical Museum, visit the Rosenbergs Revisited exhibit, which is only up until the end of June. The Museum is at 1050 Bathtub Row.

The Fuller Lodge Art Center “Eye Spy” exhibit will be open until 9 p.m. This is the last chance to vote for the People’s Choice Award in the exhibit. 2132 Central Ave.

The Bradbury Science Museum will feature Working with Wind Power: Engineer and design wind generators or build and fly a miniature helicopter. This will be open 4-6 p.m. The Museum is at 1350 Central Ave

The Los Alamos Nature Center’s Gentle Walk starts at 8:30 a.m., departing from 2600 Canyon Road.

At Mesa Public Library, there will be a special closing reception of the exhibit “Threading Forever” in the Upstairs Art Gallery and Rotunda 5-7 p.m. The Library is at 2400 Central.

Pet Pangaea is featuring the ThunderShirt for dogs suffering from anxiety due to thunder and lightning during the frequent summer storms. Stop by Pet Pangaea tonight to pick one up! The store is open until 7 p.m. at 158 Central Park Square.

Let UnQuarked handle dinner! They have picnic baskets available for purchase to take to the Summer Concert Series. UnQuarked is at 145 Central Park Square.

Bennett’s Fine Jewelry added an exciting new product line, “Shimmering Diamonds.” Stop by Bennett’s Friday and take a look. They will be open until 6 p.m. at 107 Central Park Square.

During the summer, Fourth Fridays is perfectly timed to happen right before the Summer Concert Series at Ashley Pond! Fourth Fridays will continue throughout the year:

The Los Alamos Creative District directs a variety of other programs that bring people to downtown Los Alamos. Tuesdays at the Pond, a summer entertainment series, is in its second season and runs through Aug. 11. It brings a variety of entertainment acts to the Ashley Pond stage in downtown Los Alamos at 7 p.m. every Tuesday evening.
