Tickets Available For Parade Of Playhouses Aug. 25

NMA News:

ALBUQUERQUE  New Mexico’s best builders and architects have signed up once again for the New Mexico Appleseed Parade of Playhouses Gala that will be held Friday, Aug. 25.

Each team is constructing a playhouse to be auctioned off at the Gala to support New Mexico Appleseed’s work addressing the root causes of poverty through systemic change.

This year’s design-build group includes the artistic collaborative Meow Wolf from Santa Fe! They’ve designed a whimsical playhouse that is on display in their lobby and is available through our raffle. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased in the Meow Wolf gift shop or online at www.paradeofplayhouses.com.

The Playhouse Design teams are:
  • ACE Leadership High School with Formative Architecture, Groundwork Studio, and Damian Velasquez LLC
  • HB Construction with FBT Architecture
  • Meow Wolf
  • Enterprise Builders with The Hartman + Majewski Design Group
  • National Cooperative

Last year’s event raised nearly $175,000 in support of New Mexico Appleseed’s mission of ending poverty in New Mexico. Playhouses were auctioned off at prices between $10,000 and $20,000, with many of them being donated to local nonprofits throughout the state.

The year’s event starts at 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 25, at the ABQ BioPark Botanic Garden. Tickets are on sale at www.paradeofplayhouses.com. Presenting Sponsors include DKG and Associates, Old Republic Title and Garcia Automotive Group. With generous support from Cumulus Media.

“It is such a pleasure to support NM Appleseed because I believe strongly in the work they are doing to end childhood hunger through really impactful and long term systemic change here locally and on a national legislative level. We love the creative aspect of the Parade of Playhouses and joining our friends and associates in the local architectural, design and construction community and seeing them come together and give so freely of their time and resources to craft these amazing playhouses that directly impact our NM kids is just inspiring,” Lori Addison of Beck Total Office Interiors said.

Proceeds from the Parade of Playhouses help support New Mexico Appleseed’s groundbreaking work which impacted over 150,000 low-income children last year.
