Thrift Store Clearance Sale Wednesday

COMMUNITY News:

Shop on the Corner, the thrift store at Trinity on the Hill Episcopal Church, will hold a Spring Clearance Sale Wednesday, May 27.

Customers may fill a thrift store shopping basket for $5. Clerks will also accept “best offers” for goods. The entire contents of the Shop, including children’s and adult’s clothing and accessories, shoes, books, housewares, crafts, games and toys, will be on sale. Included are a number of prom and formal dresses, men’s suits, coats, and the specially-priced clothing racks.

Hours are 8:45-11:45 a.m. Shop on the Corner is on the lower level of Trinity on the Hill, with a parking lot on Canyon Road near the corner of Diamond Drive.

“We are offering real bargains,” said Shop on the Corner Board Member Ellie Giovanielli. “There are tons of great things available, and we will sell them at rock bottom prices. Fill up a shopping basket for $5, or make us an offer we can’t refuse! Help us clear our racks, and reap the savings.”

Shop on the Corner will be closed throughout the month of June, and reopen Wednesday, July 8 with new merchandise, including things for back to school and college.

Proceeds from the Shop ($20,000 in 2014) are donated to local and regional New Mexico charities. Almost nothing donated to Shop on the Corner is thrown away. Surplus goods are donated to a number of organizations, including Big Brothers/Big Sisters, The Bernal Community Center, Hope Pregnancy Center, Los Alamos Animal Shelter, Aaron’s Closet, and The Esperanza Shelter for women and children in Santa Fe.

The friendly Shop on the Corner staff are all volunteers. Shop on the Corner has been in operation at the church for nearly 50 years. For more information, call the church at 505.662.5107.
