NHD News:National History Day – the day thousands of students celebrate history and are awarded thousands of dollars in prizes and scholarships. Everyone is encouraged to post on social media about their favorite moments in history.
The awards ceremony is 8:30 a.m. to noon ET June 15, at The Xfinity Center on the campus of the University of Maryland, College Park and live-streamed at nhd.org/webcast. (All live-stream video is available to be used in any newscast. Please credit National History Day®.)
It’s a day to celebrate history! More than $100,000 in prizes and scholarships will be awarded to the best young historians from around the world.
More information: National History Day® invites the media to celebrate #NationalHistoryDay on June 15 and to cover the award ceremony for the National History Day Contest at 8:30 a.m. ET at the Xfinity Center on the campus of theUniversity of Maryland, College Park. The event kicks off with an Olympic-style opening ceremony where all the states march around the arena proudly waving paraphernalia from their home states, territories, and countries.
