This Week at the Reel Deal

Sorry for the wait and I know many of you have been asking, and we finally got a print of All is Lost starring Robert Redford. It will open Friday for a one week run only. This very fine film is getting the Oscar buzz in a big way. I hope we can have great attendance so we can continue to bring some thoughtful, smart films to our town.

Today, we are opening the much anticipated Disney film, Frozen. The reviews are 9 out of 10 and the 3D reportedly is excellent.

We will of course hold Hunger Games: Catching Fire, which is doing crazy business, and Delivery Man, which is better than I expected and good for some deep, belly-laughs.

We managed to score a print of Out of the Furnace for next week, Dec. 6. It was a tough one to get in our small town. Scott Carpenter, who brought us Crazy Heart, has assembled a stellar cast in this provocative drama set in a steel mill town. Christian Bale, Casey Affleck, Woody Harrelson, Forest Whitaker, Willem Dafoe, Zoe Saldana and Sam Shepard bring this film to life with their fine acting. I hate to repeat myself but there will also be Oscar Noms for this one. See you there.

And yes, we are getting 12 Years a Slave as soon as we can.

I’m still not sure about The Book Thief. We haven’t made the cut yet.

As always, you can get movie times, coming attractions, and synopses at www.reeldealtheater.com.
