Friday we will be opening Robocop, and Winter’s Tale.
We will hold The Monuments Men for another week and due to its overwhelming popularity, we will probably hold The Lego Movie another couple of weeks.
I saw the dark, hilarious film, August: Osage County last night and was blown away by the performances in this film. Every actor delivers a knock-out punch, but none more so than Meryl Streep. She has been nominated again this year for Best Actress and I believe it’s all hers. She’s been nominated 18 times in past years and has won only three times.
If fact I’m so sure of this Oscar for her I’m willing to give a free movie ticket to the movie of their choice to anyone who emails me (firstname.lastname@example.org) a winner for “Best Actress in a Leading Role” other than Meryl before the March 2 Academy Awards. Do go see this movie soon as we will only show it Wednesday and Thursday this week and then it’s gone.
If you do go see The Lego Movie this weekend, please get to the theater early as it has been selling out.
Winter’s Tale is our Valentine’s Day movie this year. I have not screened it yet and only know what you do. Hopefully, it lives up to its billing and advertising campaign. Bring this newsletter and see it on Valentine’s Day with your date and we’ll give you a gift.
Do go see Robocop if you like sci-fi action. It’s not really my kind of movie, but it looks better than the original and I’m going.
On Thursday, Feb. 20, the Reel Deal is proud to sponsor a fundraiser for our own Los Alamos Beer Coop. We will be showing the feature length documentary Crafting a Nation about how the American craft brewers are rebuilding the economy one beer at a time. Get your tickets early; $12 advance, $15 the day of the show, on sale now at the Reel Deal Box Office
Philomena should be here the week of the Academy Awards
Coming attractions include: Philomena, 300: Rise of an Empire, Son of God and Mr. Peabody and Sherman 3D
Note: Do not trust other websites for Reel Deal Theater movie times as they are often incorrect and we’ve been getting a lot of confused patrons lately who use these random sites including Google. For correct show times, go to our website at www.reeldealtheater.comor use the Los Alamos Daily Post listings for show times.
If you have any requests, email me (email@example.com) and I will respond when I know something.
Don’t forget, if it’s your birthday, the movie of your choice is free!
