This Week at the Reel Deal

Reel Deal Theater

This Friday, Jan. 24, we will be opening Lone Survivor. Sorry you’ve had to wait for it, but as much as we tried, Universal wouldn’t give it to us on the break. As I’ve said before, if it’s a great movie it may take some time but there’s no need to go off the hill. We will bring the films to you.

Also opening this Friday is Nebraska, starring Bruce Dern. It’s directed by Alexander Payne who also directed two of my favorite movies: Sideways and The Descendants.

It opened in a very limited way in four screenings in November, but has gained momentum and praise. Its nominations for the upcoming Academy Awards include: Best Actor, Best Picture and Best Supporting actress.

At the risk of repeating myself, come and see it so we can continue to bring more of these kinds of films to the Reel Deal Theater.

We will hold Jack Ryan and Frozen for one more week.

Also, at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 30, we are proud to again team-up with Pajarito Environmental Education Center (PEEC), for the amazing Backcountry Film Festival. This selection of Films come from both renowned and grassroots filmmakers who search backcountry corners across the globe to submit their best works. Pajarito Brewpub will be there serving up cold beer for this event only. Tickets are $12 advance or $15 at the door on the day of the event.

Coming attractions include: Philomena, LEGO, The Monuments Men, Robo Cop and Labor Day.

Email requests to me at odonnell455@gmail.com and I will respond when I know something. Don’t forget, if it’s your birthday, the movie of your choice is free.
