LeAnne Parsons, a professional life empowerment coach, will lead Ruby K’s Community Hour at 5:30-7 p.m. Thursday, May 16 with a powerful discussion about the power of words.

Have you ever watched a friend or family member go through challenging times, and you just didn’t know what to say? Have you ever wanted to pay a compliment to someone, but didn’t know how, and wound up saying nothing? Have you struggled with making an authentic connection with neighbors and coworkers?

This interactive seminar will help you navigate situations in life where you need to make a connection with another human being.

Parsons is a member of the International Coaching Federation and is working on her certification as an Energy Leadership Master Practitioner from the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching.

Before becoming a coach, Parsons was a cosmetologist. “I feel like I’ve been coaching for over 20 years, ‘behind the chair’, by loving people and building deep friendships,” she said.

Now that she is becoming a certified professional coach, Parsons believes that helping people strengthen their connections to others is important.

“Without connection, people feel alone and isolated. They feel they’re the only one. But when you feel connected to other people, you can let your guard down. You can finally be spontaneous, open, authentic, and safe. We all need each other,” she said.

“We need to step out of our comfort zone and have a desire for better relationships,” Parsons said.

The Ruby K’s Community Hour will be the first of many workshops that Parsons will offer to the public.

As a coach, Parsons offers different packages with varying levels of commitment. She even offers a “drive by” coaching service for people who may be in crisis mode, or who need to gain perspective while making specific decisions.
