How did Santa Fe become one of the biggest art markets in the country? This is a beautiful book detailing the remarkable range of artists drawn to Santa Fe early in the 20th century from Gustave Baumann to Raymond Jonson. The book includes a separate pamphlet, a walking tour of artists’ homes in Santa Fe. Lewandowski thoroughly researched fascinating stories of the artists’ lives; archival photographs of Santa Fe, and full color plates of art work will be included in the slide show.

  • Mesa Public Library Art Gallery: At 3 p.m. Friday, July 26 in the Art Gallery, current exhibiting artists Shaun Gilmore and Janice Wall will do a gallery walk through and talk about the work in the show, Mostly Clear and Partly Cloudy: Climate as Metaphor. Come by and find out more about this innovative work that includes mixed media wall pieces-printing, painting, drawing and installations. The exhibit will be on view through Aug. 4.
