PEEC News:

Pajarito Environmental Education Center (PEEC) needs the community’s help. Due to the pandemic and closure of the Los Alamos Nature Center over the last year, active PEEC memberships have dipped lower than they’ve been in years.

For anyone who has been on the fence about joining PEEC’s membership program, now is a great time to support a favorite nature center.

PEEC memberships also make great gifts for birthdays, end-of-year teacher appreciation, anniversaries or other celebrations.

PEEC also would like to help its members get outside and connect with nature. In honor of Earth Month and the membership drive, PEEC is holding an experience giveaway for new members or current members who renew or upgrade their membership between now and April 30.

Six winners will be selected for an excursion with one of PEEC’s naturalists. Excursions include birding trips, wildflower walks and astronomy lessons with local experts. New members or membership renewals will be entered into the drawing once. Any member that upgrades their membership to auto-renewal will be entered five times. Current lifetime members and current auto-renewal members also will be automatically entered into the drawing five times.

Becoming a member of PEEC is about becoming a part of a community of nature lovers. Support from an annual membership to PEEC enables the organization to operate the Los Alamos Nature Center and share the amazing natural beauty of the unique environment with people from all over the world. It also allows PEEC to offer a steady schedule of events on a variety of nature topics for all ages.

But of course, membership has its benefits, too. All PEEC members receive reciprocal benefits at other nature centers, special member pricing for events, discounts at the gift shop, a quarterly newsletter and much more.
