COMMUNITY News:
After a successful debut, Jilllian Rubio is once again hosting an evening of live storytelling on Monday, August 3 at Samizdat Bookstore and Teahouse, inviting the community back for a second installment of true, first-person stories shared by local residents. Beans begins at 5 p.m., and the Spill at 6 p.m.
The inaugural event drew a warm response from the community, and organizers say the return reflects a hope to make it a recurring fixture at the bookstore. This second evening will once again feature a lineup of storytellers, sharing personal, true accounts from their own lives, spanning a range of backgrounds and experiences.
As with the first event, the evening will be presented alongside the bookstore’s popular Monday Supper Club, affectionately known to regulars as “Bean Night,” pairing an evening of shared food with an evening of shared stories.
Rubio, creator and host of the event, hopes the series will continue to grow, offering the community an opportunity to gather, listen, and connect through storytelling.
