Staff Report
The purpose of the large crane that made its way up the Main Hill Road Monday evening and over to the CenturyLink Building on Trinity Drive is to clean up an area of decades old contaminated dirt.
Los Alamos County Community Development Director Paul Andrus explained today that the crane has been brought it to remove legacy waste along the side of the canyon behind the Los Alamos Public Schools Administration Building on Trinity Drive. This new crane joins another crane that began removing legacy waste a couple of weeks ago near the Smart House just a little further down the canyon.
The projected completion date for this clean-up project is late September.
