Eastern Area 2 Concrete, Paving & Utility Project – Phase 2
On Monday, RMCI Inc. will begin trenching on Canyon Road between 9th Street and 15th Street. Motorists can expect flagging operations with minor delays during the day and two-way traffic in the evenings and weekends when work is not occurring.
Starting on Monday, Rim Road will be completely closed at Canyon to allow for the construction of a manhole. Rim Road motorists will be detoured to Quartz. Rim Road should be re-opened by mid-week.
Also starting mid-week, the contractor will begin removal of sidewalk, curb, and gutter on the west side of Canyon Road, leaving the concrete intact on the east side of the road for pedestrian use.
Please slow down and use caution as you travel through this construction area.
Upcoming Construction Projects:
Western Area Phase 1, pavement reconstruction on 41st, 42nd, 43rd, and 44th Streets north of Trinity, including concrete replacement and reconstruction of the sidewalk paths from the above streets to the Western Area Park. Estimated start date is April 27.
Mesa Public Library Safety Improvements, including some additional sidewalks, a total of three pedestrian crossings, relocation of the book drop, and changing the traffic flow from two-way traffic to one-way traffic (west to east) between the library’s main parking lot and the overflow parking lot. Estimated start date is May 1.
