The Cone Zone: Week Of April 22

COUNTY News:

Public Works/Traffic Division projects:

Pothole Patching on Diamond Drive at Trinity/Canyon/Diamond intersections

Weather permitting, Traffic and Streets Division crews will continue to patch potholes Thursday on Diamond Drive. Work will focus on the Diamond southbound lane at the intersection with Trinity and requires a short detour to accomplish the work. From 10-11 a.m. Thursday, the left turn lane (east bound turn lane) on Diamond Drive that permits southbound vehicles to turn left onto Trinity will be closed for pothole repairs. The eastbound lane on west Trinity will also be closed and vehicles exiting Western Area will not be able to proceed through the Diamond intersection. Traffic will be detoured to Canyon Drive during this one-hour time frame. The northbound bike lane from LA Canyon (aka Omega) Bridge to Trinity Drive will be closed in order for crews to stage equipment for repairs during this time.

Once this work is completed, motorists should expect a moving single lane closure on Diamond as crews continue patching potholes between Orange Street near the high school and the San Ildefonso roundabout. Work will occur in the north and southbound lanes until crews run out of patching material. Please allow extra time for possible delays, slow down, keep a safe distance from machinery, watch for road crews, and use extra caution when approaching these busy intersections at Trinity, Canyon, Diamond and Orange.

Additional testing will be performed to provide information that will be used in the Diamond Drive Project. Intermittent lane closures will take place 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday.
