SANTA FE — Teresa Leger Fernandez, Democratic candidate for Congress in New Mexico’s third Congressional District, announced that she has been appointed to the 2020 Democratic National Convention (DNC) Rules and Bylaws Committee.

This committee is tasked with determining how the Democratic National Convention is structured and organized, as well as what issues are prioritized within the 2020 DNC agenda.

This placement gives New Mexico an essential voice within the national Democratic party, especially as Democrats across the nation continue to work toward the safest way to hold a convention during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I am honored to be joining such an important committee during this critical time for our nation and our democracy,” Leger Fernandez said. “As we continue to face the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, I am proud to have the opportunity to ensure that New Mexican voices are heard on the national stage. This year’s DNC is going to be unlike any in history, and it is essential that we uplift the voices of all New Mexicans as we come together to create a safe and successful convention.”
