Temporary Restricted Use Of LA Mesa Trail To Benefit Aspen Ridge Residents During COVID-19 Pandemic

COUNTY News:

Los Alamos County Community Services announced this morning that beginning Friday, May 29, a portion of the LA Mesa Trail near the eastern edge of Los Alamos will be reserved for use only by Aspen Ridge residents.

This restriction on the trail use will allow Aspen Ridge residents the opportunity to walk on this trail while still isolating from others. The reservation of the trail will occur 8-11 a.m., Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

The reserved use of the trail for these residents during the COVID-19 pandemic came about as a result of a suggestion from a resident, and with the cooperation of Aspen Ridge staff and management, to provide a safe opportunity for residents to exercise by walking the trail.

Signs will be in place at several entry points to inform the public of these temporary time/use restrictions, which are expected to remain in place until at least July 1.
